More Australian soldiers being sent to Afghanistan

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,25402953-421,00.html
Two hundred more troops are being sent to fight in Afghanistan yet one hundred will be pulled out of Iraq. This shows that Australia is becoming more focused on the terrorists threats in Afghanistan rather than the insurgency activity in Iraq. This mirrors the US involvement in the middle east, because they are also deploying more troops to Afghanistan.

A militia group comprised of local fisherman in Somalia have banned together to apprehend the pirates that have been tormenting their coastline. So far the men have captured a dozen pirates and are told they have to hand them over to local authorities. I think that it shows that the pirate problem affects the people of Somalia as much as it does foreign countries

migrants arrested in France

http://www.connexionfrance.com/news_articles.php?id=774&PHPSESSID=f063ef3a3b458058fd5059b75da363b1
In the french city Calais 200 migrant were arrested. These massive amount of arrest was aimed at those who immigrate to France illegally, and those who help the illegal immigrants move in and out of the country. I found it strange to think of France as having an immigration problem like the U.S. does, but the government there seems to be cracking down harder on the illegal immigrants.

New Offer for Iran and their nuclear activities.

Six countries including the United States, Russia, and France, have issued a new offer for Iran and their nuclear enrichment program. These six countries approached the European Union and offered to sit down with Iran and engage in peaceful and diplomatic talks that promote mutual respect for eachother. These countries suspect that the Iranian nuclear program was not intended to create nuclear power for civillian use but instead create nuclear weapons. Iran still reaffirms their position by saying that the nuclear programs are not to create nuclear weapons.
